Green beans are so wonderfully versatile and will adopt just about any flavours really well so experiment and find out what you like.
Ingredients: Serves two
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, about a small handful from the bunch
- Pinch of ground sea salt
- Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
- 225g Green beans
- 1 crushed garlic clove, keep in one piece as much as possible
- 5gm butter or ½ tablespoon vegetable oil
Trim the ends off the beans and boil for 5 minutes until tender, remove and drain.
In the same saucepan heat the butter (or oil) and add the crushed garlic clove to it then stir in the heated butter for 1 minute, remove the garlic clove and add the salt, pepper and parsley, stir for a couple of seconds, finally return the beans, make sure they are all coved with the garlic and parsley coating, serve immediately.

Ginger; try adding a little fresh ginger instead of garlic to the beans
Dill & Lemon; dill and lemon is a lovely substitute for the garlic and parsley
Almonds & Thyme; add a few toasted flaked almonds and thyme instead of the garlic and parsley
